What is a wedding teaser?

A wedding teaser, or trailer, is a 30–60 second edit that gives your couple and their guests a first look at the film soon after the wedding. We deliver every teaser in both 16:9 and 9:16, so it plays properly on YouTube and Vimeo as well as Instagram and TikTok. It’s $149, with the first draft in 7 business days and 2 revisions.

Why the teaser matters to your business

The teaser is often the first piece of your work that the couple’s friends see. It’s when you’re most likely to be tagged and shared, and when an engaged guest asks “who filmed this?”

A fast teaser also buys you goodwill while the longer films are in progress. At 7 business days, or half that with rush (+$99), it arrives while everyone is still talking about the wedding.

How we cut a teaser

  • A hook in the first two seconds. A line of audio or a striking image. Not a slow fade from black.
  • One emotional line, used sparingly. A vow or a toast line that makes people want the full film.
  • Music with a clear build and a clean ending, not a fade-out.
  • No spoilers. We hold back the strongest moments for the highlight film, unless you tell us otherwise.

Reframed for 9:16, not just cropped

A center crop from 16:9 cuts off faces, hands and half the action. For the vertical version, we recompose each shot:

  • We reposition the frame shot by shot to keep faces and action centered.
  • We swap in a tighter angle from another camera when a wide shot doesn’t work vertically.
  • We keep key action clear of the bottom and right edges, where platforms place captions and buttons.
  • On-screen text, if you use it, is placed and sized for a phone screen.

Teaser, highlight film or social reel?

A teaser is a 30–60 second trailer for the whole wedding, delivered in widescreen and vertical. A social reel is a 15–60 second vertical-only cut built around one moment or idea, usually for your own marketing. A highlight film is the 4–6 minute story of the day. Teasers are $149, reels start at $99, and highlight films are $349.

When to deliver the teaser

Timing is most of a teaser’s value. A few approaches videographers use:

  • Within a week or two of the wedding. Ride the wave of guest photos and posts. Order the teaser first; at 7 business days it lands well before the highlight film.
  • Before the honeymoon ends. A teaser waiting when your couple gets home is a strong first impression.
  • As a bridge to the full film. If your full film takes several weeks, the teaser keeps your couple happy in between.
  • Right away, with rush. Rush (+$99) halves teaser turnaround if you’ve promised something fast.

What to send for a teaser

  • The full footage (we pick the moments), or a short list of moments you want included
  • Your vow and speech audio, even if you only want one line used
  • Your preferred track, or a mood for us to match with a licensed track
  • Your logo or title card, if you end teasers with one
  • Any moments to hold back for the highlight film

Teaser length: 30 or 60 seconds?

Thirty seconds suits social feeds and fast attention spans: one emotional line, a build, a clean ending. Sixty seconds gives room for a short story arc with two audio moments. Tell us your preference in the brief. If you’re unsure, we default to the shortest length that holds the story.

What you receive

Frequently asked questions

Do you offer rush delivery?

Yes. Rush is +$99 and halves the turnaround on a teaser or highlight film. A highlight film then takes 7 business days instead of 14.

Is music included?

Yes. Licensed tracks are included with every project, or we cut to tracks you’ve already licensed. Tell us which in your brief.

How do revisions work?

You review drafts in Frame.io and leave time-stamped comments. Teasers, speech, ceremony and social reels include 2 revision rounds. Highlight films, full films and the trial include 3. In the Complete Suite and Studio Plan, each film keeps its own revisions. Extra rounds are $49 each.

Will my clients know I outsourced the edit?

Not from us. Every deliverable is white-label by default: unbranded, no watermarks, no credits. We sign an NDA on request, free, before your first project, and we never contact your clients.
