What is a wedding highlight film?

A wedding highlight film is a 4–6 minute edit that tells the story of the day through its strongest moments: vows, speeches, reactions, details and the party, cut to music and color-graded. With us it costs $349, the first draft arrives in 14 business days, and it includes 3 revision rounds.

For your couple, it’s the film they watch on every anniversary. For you, it’s the film that books next year’s weddings. That’s why it’s our most-ordered package and the one we spend the most review time on.

How we build a highlight film

1. We find the spine in the audio

Before we look at a single shot, we listen. Vows, letters, readings, speeches, a toast that made the room laugh. We pick the lines that carry the story and decide where they go. The audio sets the structure. The pictures follow it.

2. We sync and pull selects

Every camera (up to 5, drone included) is synced to your separate audio sources. Then we build selects: the best moments by part of the day, so the edit starts from strong material rather than a raw timeline.

3. We cut to the music, not on every beat

A licensed track that fits your brief, or one you’ve licensed, sets the rhythm. We build to its peaks and quiet moments, let speech audio breathe in the gaps, and avoid the “every cut on a snare” pattern that makes highlights feel generic.

4. We grade and mix

Color is graded in DaVinci Resolve with every camera matched and skin tones protected. Dialogue is cleaned, leveled and sat under the music so you can hear every word.

5. We add your titles, if you use them

Titles and motion graphics are built in After Effects to your template. No title? No problem. Many of our clients prefer none.

6. Two people review it before you do

Your editor checks the film against your brief and style sheet. A lead editor then reviews the whole film. Only then does it go to your Frame.io inbox.

How long should a wedding highlight film be?

Four to six minutes is the range most videographers and couples settle on. It’s long enough to tell a story with speech audio and emotional peaks, and short enough to watch more than once. Our highlight package covers 4–6 minutes. Longer edits are possible and quoted upfront, before we start.

A few practical guidelines:

  • Under 4 minutes tends to become a music video. Consider a teaser instead.
  • 4–6 minutes is room for a beginning, a middle and an end, with two or three speech moments.
  • Over 6 minutes works when there’s strong dialogue to carry it, such as letters, a long toast or an officiant who tells their story. We’ll quote the extended length before work begins.

What makes a highlight film good (and what we avoid)

Good highlight films What we avoid
A clear story arc driven by real words from the day Slow-motion montages with no voice
Music that breathes; moments where it drops out Cutting on every beat for three minutes straight
Reactions: parents, grandparents, the wedding party Ten seconds of the venue sign
Consistent color across cameras One camera warm, one cool, one green
An ending that lands, not one that fades out Credits nobody asked for
Your style, your titles, your pacing Our style imposed on your couple

Can AI edit a wedding highlight film?

AI tools can assemble clips to music, but they can’t yet make the decisions that make a highlight film worth rewatching. Choosing which line from a speech carries the story, knowing which reaction matters to this family, or holding on a moment a beat longer than the rhythm suggests is editorial judgment. We use software for technical steps. A person makes the story decisions, and a second person checks them.

Frequently asked questions

Can you match my editing style?

Yes, that’s the core of the job. Send a short style brief and two or three of your own films, with notes on pacing, music, color and must-include moments. Your editor builds a style sheet from them, and every edit is checked against it in our two-stage review before you see it.

Is music included?

Yes. Licensed tracks are included with every project, or we cut to tracks you’ve already licensed. Tell us which in your brief.

How do revisions work?

You review drafts in Frame.io and leave time-stamped comments. Teasers, speech, ceremony and social reels include 2 revision rounds. Highlight films, full films and the trial include 3. In the Complete Suite and Studio Plan, each film keeps its own revisions. Extra rounds are $49 each.

Do you offer rush delivery?

Yes. Rush is +$99 and halves the turnaround on a teaser or highlight film. A highlight film then takes 7 business days instead of 14.

How does the $199 trial work?

Your first order can be a 4–6 minute highlight film for $199 instead of the regular $349. It includes a 14-business-day turnaround and 3 revisions. It’s covered by our 7-day money-back guarantee on the $199 trial: if you’re not satisfied with the first draft, email us for a full refund within 7 days of receiving it, provided you haven’t yet requested a revision or downloaded/approved the final video.

Will my clients know I outsourced the edit?

Not from us. Every deliverable is white-label by default: unbranded, no watermarks, no credits. We sign an NDA on request, free, before your first project, and we never contact your clients.

Send us one wedding. Judge the edit, not the pitch.

Your first highlight film is $199 instead of $349: 4–6 minutes, 14 business days, 3 revisions, and covered by our 7-day money-back guarantee.
