What is a wedding social reel?

A wedding social reel is a 15–60 second vertical video made for Instagram Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts. It usually centers on one moment or idea (a first look, a toast, the dance floor, a getting-ready detail) and is paced for a phone screen. Reels start at $99, come back in 7 business days and include 2 revisions.

Why videographers order reels from their editor

Couples share reels, and you post them. Short vertical video is where engaged couples scroll while they look for vendors, so a steady stream of reels keeps your work in front of the people you want to book.

The problem is time. Re-cutting each highlight film into vertical clips is a whole extra evening per wedding. Ordering reels alongside your main edit means you get platform-ready content from every wedding without doing it yourself.

Reel ideas from one wedding: – The first look, start to finish – One toast line that got the biggest laugh – Getting-ready details: dress, rings, letters – The grand entrance or first dance – A “day in 30 seconds” recap – The send-off

How we cut for vertical

  • Vertical-native composition. We choose and reframe shots for 9:16. We don’t just center-crop the widescreen edit.
  • A fast hook. The first second has to earn the second second.
  • Caption-safe framing. Faces and action stay clear of the areas where platforms place usernames, captions and buttons.
  • Readable on mute. On-screen text if your brief asks for it, sized for a phone.
  • One idea per reel. A reel that tries to show the whole day usually shows nothing.

Trending sounds on Instagram and TikTok are licensed for use inside those apps, not for video files we export. We deliver reels with licensed music or tracks you supply. We can also deliver a version with clean audio and no music, so you can add a trending sound in the app before posting. Tell us which you prefer in your brief.

Reel or teaser?

A reel is vertical-only and built around one moment, mostly for your marketing. A teaser ($149) is a 30–60 second trailer for the whole wedding, delivered in both 16:9 and 9:16. If you want something that works on YouTube and Instagram, choose the teaser.

Reel specs we deliver to

  • Aspect ratio: 9:16 vertical
  • Length: 15–60 seconds, matched to your brief
  • Resolution and codec: to your delivery spec in the brief (for example 1080×1920, H.264)
  • Safe zones: faces, action and on-screen text kept clear of the top, bottom and right-hand areas that platforms cover with interface elements
  • Captions: burned-in text if your brief asks for it

How many reels should you get from one wedding?

There’s no fixed rule. Many videographers post one reel from each wedding, plus extra reels from weddings with especially strong moments: a funny toast, an emotional first look, a great location. Order as many as you’ll actually post. Reels start at $99 each.

What to send for a reel

  • The moment or idea you want the reel built around, or “editor’s choice”
  • The full footage for that part of the day, plus any audio
  • Your music choice, a mood for a licensed track, or “clean audio” if you’ll add sound in the app
  • On-screen text, if you use it, and your fonts
  • Your handle or logo, if you add one to the final frame

What you receive

  • A 15–60 second vertical (9:16) reel
  • Licensed music, your licensed track, or a clean-audio version
  • An organized project timeline in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut Pro
  • 2 revision rounds in Frame.io (extra rounds $49)
  • White-label delivery, so you can post it as your own

Frequently asked questions

Is music included?

Yes. Licensed tracks are included with every project, or we cut to tracks you’ve already licensed. Tell us which in your brief.

How do revisions work?

You review drafts in Frame.io and leave time-stamped comments. Teasers, speech, ceremony and social reels include 2 revision rounds. Highlight films, full films and the trial include 3. In the Complete Suite and Studio Plan, each film keeps its own revisions. Extra rounds are $49 each.

How long does editing take?

Turnaround is counted in business days from when we have your complete footage and brief: speech and ceremony edits 5, teasers and social reels 7, highlight films 14, full wedding films and the Complete Suite 21. Studio Plan edits have a 10-day turnaround. Rush (+$99) halves teaser and highlight turnaround.

Will my clients know I outsourced the edit?

Not from us. Every deliverable is white-label by default: unbranded, no watermarks, no credits. We sign an NDA on request, free, before your first project, and we never contact your clients.

Turn every wedding into content.

Your first highlight film is $199 instead of $349: 4–6 minutes, 14 business days, 3 revisions, and covered by our 7-day money-back guarantee.
