Is it safe to send wedding footage to an outside editor?
It can be, if the editor tells you exactly how footage is handled. Our commitments: transfer over HTTPS/TLS, access limited to your assigned editor and reviewer, raw footage deleted 90 days after delivery, backups purged within 30 days, a free NDA on request, no portfolio use without written consent, and no AI training, ever.
Wedding films contain vows, private conversations, children and guests who never expected to appear online. You’re trusting us with your clients’ most personal day. This page sets out, in plain language, what we do with that footage from the moment you share it until it’s gone.
1. Who can access your footage
Footage is transferred over HTTPS/TLS. Access is limited to your assigned editor and the lead who reviews the edit. Nobody else at WeddingVideosEditor opens your project unless you ask us to, for example for support. We never share footage with your clients or any third party, other than the storage and transfer services needed to do the work.
2. How footage reaches us
You share footage through Google Drive or Dropbox links (up to 500GB per project, up to 5 cameras including drone). We recommend you: – Share with our address only, not “anyone with the link” – Grant view access, not edit access – Set an expiry date on the link if your provider allows it
Drafts are shared with you through Frame.io.
3. How long we keep it
- Raw footage is kept for 90 days after delivery, so you can request changes, then permanently deleted.
- Backups are purged within 30 days.
4. Requesting early deletion
Email hello@weddingvideoseditor.com from the address on your account, naming the project. We delete it and confirm in writing within 5 business days.
5. White-label and confidentiality
- White-label by default: unbranded deliverables, no watermarks.
- NDA signed on request, free, before your first project.
- We never contact your clients.
6. Portfolio use
Your work appears in our portfolio only with your prior written consent, given per project. You can withdraw consent, and we’ll remove the film from our site within 5 business days.
7. Artificial intelligence
Your footage is never used to train third-party AI systems. We do not upload client footage, audio or stills to any service for the purpose of training AI models.
8. If something goes wrong
If we become aware of unauthorized access to your footage, we’ll notify you without undue delay and explain what happened and what we’re doing about it. We’ll also make any notifications the law requires.
